A special membership is available for parents of children and young people. You can read more about this on the website of IKMF.

We would kindly ask you to get your child's membership in order as soon as possible. It is important that children are enrolled to participate in the IKMF exams. We would like all our members to have the opportunity to develop their skills and show what they have learnt.

Women Only Advanced Krav Maga course (for mums and gals aged 14 and over)

For all mothers and daughters who have previously participated in the Krav Maga Women Only course and all ladies taking regular Krav Maga classes, we have a fun course. In spring, we will organise an advanced Women Only course of 6 lessons. This will allow you to increase your personal resilience and self-confidence. There is a free introductory class on Monday 24 April. The lessons take place on Mondays from 20:15 to 21:15 and the course starts on Monday 8 May and runs until 19 June (except 29 May Whitsun). The cost is €95 for early bird registrations (before 26 April) or €115 regular bird after 26 April.

Register for the course now and welcome to our introductory class via the contact form.

Change in membership fees

We would like to inform you of a change in membership fees. From the dues month of May, the membership fees of all current memberships will be adjusted. You can check the new fees here find.

We tried to delay this change as long as possible despite the rising costs, but unfortunately we cannot escape it. If you registered after 15 March 2023, there will be no change as the new membership fees had already been implemented for new members at that time.

If you have a multi-year membership, you keep the 10%, 20% or 30% discount compared to the standard membership. So this discount does not change.

If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding.

New Aggression Management course

We have great news! Riaz Taus has successfully completed the aggression management trainer course!

During these trainings, you will learn how to deal safely and effectively with aggression from others. You also learn to apply de-escalating conversation techniques that can take place on the shop floor, for example. Are you interested in this? Then contact us via contact form.

Grappling

We would also like to highlight our grappling classes. These classes can be attended by anyone aged 14 and over, whether you are already a FIT or Krav Maga member. As a current member, you can even attend 2 free trial lessons. Curious? Then take a look at our website for more information.

Schedule during holidays and/or public holidays

We would also like to draw your attention to our modified schedule due to holidays and/or holidays. Check the agenda for any changes. Did you know that in weeks where we have a modified schedule, you may take all classes the week before and after. This is an ideal time to get acquainted with our other training courses as well.

New back office assistant

With effect from mid-March, we have a new back office assistant. Marc is delighted to join the Taus family. Marc himself is 5e year SPECO Sport Marketing student at Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg. He would like to meet the members once on the floor and make videos with them for the gym. Sam says goodbye to us and we would like to thank her for her efforts and wish her good luck with her future plans!

Whatsapp groups

Finally, we would like to highlight our whatsapp groups. This is where we keep you updated on the latest news and where you can access all the videos we record during the lessons. This way, you can look back at home to see what you learned that lesson and how well you are doing. If you are not yet in the whatsapp group, send an app to: +31653974470 and we'll add you!

We hope to see you at one of our classes soon!.

Supplements

The other day I saw a episode of Boos over Viteezy: a company that sells personalised packages of vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements. You fill in some questions and a recommendation of vitamins and minerals rolls out, which you can then order from them. However, this episode featured a girl who had suffered liver poisoning from taking a particular supplement. An extreme case, but it got me thinking. Because companies like Viteezy are popping up more and more often. Unfortunately, these companies are not concerned with your health, but selling their product.

When you eat healthy and whole foods, you do not need nutritional supplements. In fact, a number of nutrients are known to be harmful when taken in excess for long periods. For instance, more than 250 mg of magnesium from tablets can have a laxative effect, excessive doses of vitamin D can lead to kidney damage and too much vitamin B6 can damage the nervous system. You can only get this ‘overdose’ by taking supplements.

There are specific cases where taking extra vitamins and minerals does become necessary, for example vitamin D for people over 70 or with darker skin. Also, if you eat vegetarian or vegan, certain dietary supplements are important. In these cases, always check the right amount with a doctor or dietician.

Don't feel well, fit or think you need some extra? Then see what you can change in your current diet before reaching for supplements. Talk to a doctor or dietician about which supplements might be advisable. And if you are in doubt about deficiencies, have your blood levels checked.
