NEWSLETTER VOLUME 8 NO. 2
Hello everyone!
Slowly, we are leaving winter behind and the sun is showing itself more and more often. And now that spring has started outside, we think it is a good time to pay attention to this in the gym as well. Besides cosy and intensive exercise together, there will also be an extra focus on finding peace and balance in this season for reviving, growing and blossoming. To help you make a good start this spring, we therefore offer various yoga courses and a mindfulness course.

MEMBER INTERVIEW!
Title: Taus Gym is for me ... an outlet to release energy / exercise in a way other than simply going to the gym. Gym you don't really have to think about.
Name: Lissa van Beerendonk
Age: 19
Member since: February 2019
What classes do you take: Krav Maga

- What do you do in daily life?
Studied applied photography and Image Communication at university of photography in rotterdam. I recently quit this to apply for a job with the police. I also work at animal hotel t’ Kuiltje in Udenhout, where I can indulge my passion for animals. Furthermore, I spend a lot of time with friends and meet a lot of new people at places where I work, do voluntary work and go out.
- Where does your interest in sports come from?
I am a person with a lot of energy and do not like to sit still. I prefer to be busy all day with anything and everything and like to be comfortable in my skin.
- What sports have you been involved in?
What not actually... I have ridden horses, boxing, taekwondo, judo, badminton, competitive swimming, volleyball and gymnastics. At the moment I only go to the gym (approx 5h a week), Zumba (2h a week) and Krav Maga when I can.
- What do you look for in a sport?
Especially an outlet. Above all, I want to be able to release my energy into it.
- What does sport mean to you physically and mentally?
Physically, mainly a way to release energy and a way to keep my body fit. Mentally, I often look for sports outside the gym that demand something of me that I wouldn't normally do. Variety and stimulation.
- What was your first introduction to Krav Maga?
A trial lesson via Facebook. At first, I thought nice to join a class and didn't expect to commit to it. But I liked it so much and could find the things I was looking for (variety and stimuli) in it so much that I did.
- Why did you choose TG?
Because it's social, sociable and a great outlet.
- What are your sports goals at TG?
Having fun.
- What goals have you already achieved at TG?
Getting fit, having fun and building fitness.
- What was the most special experience you experienced at TG?
That you very quickly feel at ease with the other members. Sometimes you have to practise being quite “intimate” and close to each other and that feels very familiar.
- How do you combine sports with your work and social life?
Personally, I put work first and shape my social life around that, which comes easily. In my time out there, I play sports.
- Do you have any sports and/or health tips that have worked for you that you would like to share with other members?
Find what works for you! No one's body or lifestyle is the same and there is no diet or workout that works for everyone. Listen to your body and you will reach your goals faster and healthier.
