Hello there!
Hopefully you are as happy as we are 😀 Yes, that has to do with the sunshine, but also a lot with the new location. Every day we go to work with even more pleasure than before. Because we already notice that the new location is starting to resemble what we had in mind: a personal gym with a top atmosphere, where everyone is welcome to train together regardless of experience and level. But also to have fun together! So we enjoyed ourselves immensely during the official opening, where we trained together and toasted the new location together. But we also had a good time during the annual members' BBQ! We will continue this motivating and positive sports atmosphere with you and focus on challenging and social sports activities at Taus Gym!
For now, you may relax in the sunshine reading the newsletter about all upcoming plans, activities, workshops, summer schedule and finally, of course, you will find the member interview!

Opening drinks
Friday, 31 August, you are invited to the opening drinks! We will toast to the new sports season. We can also chat about each other's holidays and new sports goals! Would you like to bring someone along? You can! Introducées are welcome, so bring your partner, colleague, family member or friends along so they too know where you hang out every week 😉

NEW IN BREDA: FIT Circuit!
From Monday 6 August, we will start FIT Circuit training at our Breda location. FIT Circuit is a unique cross-training programme from Taus Gym, where each class trains all muscle groups at maximum intensity in just 30 minutes. In the form of a training circuit, you will go to the maximum to efficiently achieve visible results! You will see: this maximum physical effort will challenge you to push your limits every class. For creative athletes, who like sociability, challenge and variation, FIT Circuit is a must.

Time: 6.30-7.00pm (doors open from 6.15pm)
In August, participation in FIT Circuit in Breda is free for all members!
Holiday schedule
Keep in mind that the holiday schedule is in effect from July 9 to August 15. View the agenda here for all dates and lesson times.
Furthermore, some modified rules apply during this period:
- With a Basic Membership, you may make up a missed week during this period.
- All Krav Maga classes during this period are open to all levels.
- Young people who are 14 years or older may join Krav Maga Adults.
- Try-Out Free Training During the summer period, we will organise a try-out with free training hours. This means you can come and train independently during this period. We want to gauge whether there is enough enthusiasm to introduce this officially and structurally in the new sports season. For more information, dates and times click here.
- Additional events: Kids Krav Maga outdoor, Breda Krav Maga outdoor.
Viking Run
Yaaaaaa we are allowed again! The Strong Viking Run Brother Edition is on the agenda and we are counting on the Taus Gym Team!
Every year we take on the challenge with a group and it's incredibly fun to do it together. Have you participated before? Then you already know and we don't need to convince you. Will it be your first Obstacle Run with the Taus Gym Team? Trust us, it's fun and challenging, and you won't regret it! Just a little muscle ache ;).

Free workshops
Many free workshops are scheduled in the coming weeks! Be sure to join in and push your limits!
Every workshop is basically an introductory lesson so you can be introduced to something new! A workshop often focuses on a specific theme, so that participants learn targeted information and skills. In doing so, we provide both depth in the subject and breadth in the field. The workshops are also structured in such a way that they are always accessible to everyone; experience or level does not matter! So just join in 😀 !

Free Workshop Krav Maga in Breda
On Monday 20 August, we are hosting a free Krav Maga Workshop in Breda.
During the workshop, we will cover basic techniques so that you get a good impression of what Krav Maga can do for you. The workshop will focus on Knife Attacks & Threats. Be sure to come along and bring friends and colleagues. Everyone is welcome!

Free Kids Krav Maga workshop in Tilburg
Self-defence is important for every child! With Kids Krav Maga, we playfully teach children self-defence techniques that will help them be stronger and defend themselves when needed. This workshop will focus on anti-bullying.

Free Krav Maga Women Only workshop in Tilburg
Krav Maga Women Only focuses specifically on situations women may find themselves in. This workshop will focus on self-defence against sexual harassment. Women often face this form of threat differently from men. Here, it is important to recognise undesirable behaviour at an early stage. During the workshop, we cover physical and verbal self-defence techniques against sexual harassment. A necessary training for all women!

Free Krav Maga Youth workshop
A Krav Maga workshop for youngsters aged 12-16 years will be held on Wednesday, September 5!
With Krav Maga, young people learn to stand up for themselves while working on their health, fitness and motor skills. This also contributes to the growth of their self-confidence and a positive self-image. And this is very important. Because a child who exudes self-confidence is less likely to become a victim of threatening situations at school or on the street.
Krav Maga is therefore extremely valuable for the safety of every child!

Taus Gym is for me... a place where I can push my limits and get to know myself better.

Which classes do you take: Krav Maga Women Only

- What do you do in daily life?
- I study at Tilburg University, I do salsa dancing and I am a member of the rowing club, Vidar.
- Where does your interest in sports come from?
- I have played sports all my life and I have come to love the physical challenge. I started doing Krav Maga because I plan to travel in the future and then I want to be prepared for potentially unpleasant situations where I might have to defend myself.
- What sports have you been involved in?
- I played hockey all my life and these days I do rowing.
- What do you look for in a sport?
- Challenge, but also team building.
- What does sport mean to you physically and mentally?
- It is a mental outlet for me. When I have exercised, my worries feel much less, stress reduction for me.
- What was your first introduction to Krav Maga?
- I searched online for self-defence for women myself and thus came across Taus Gym and immediately requested a trial class.
- Why did you choose TG?
- During the trial lesson, I was warmly welcomed by the group and soon saw the usefulness of the lessons.
- What are your sports goals at TG?
- I want to learn to defend myself better so that I am confident, for example when I walk down the street at night.
- What goals have you already achieved at TG?
- I have realised that I am much stronger than I thought and I feel more powerful in situations that can be threatening.
- What was the most special experience you experienced at TG?
- That was the moment I could let myself go all the way against the punching bag for the first time! It felt like something fell off me, which before was holding me back from showing everything and giving everything. It felt good!
- How do you combine sports with your work and social life?
- After studying during the day, I schedule hours where I exercise.
- Do you have any sports and/or health tips that have worked for you that you would like to share with other members?
- Doing your workout early in the day makes you feel like you can handle the whole day!
