The new year has begun! First of all, we wish you a happy, healthy and sporty 2024.
We look forward to making it another sporty year together with you. Of course, we can't do that without updating you on all the new things happening within Taus Gym.
This newsletter includes information on a new Grappling workshop, the members' outing, everything concerning the exams and the new round of the Women Only Krav Maga course. We also like to share photos and videos from previous events and keep you informed about upcoming holiday seasons.

Grappling workshop
We have some good news! Namely, we are going to launch a special Grappling organise workshop.
Grappling is a martial art that deals mainly on the ground. As a result, you develop skills in ground fighting. In addition, it is an incredibly good workout for your body. This is because you use all your muscle groups and also improve your coordination and agility.
The Grappling workshop will be delivered by Marcel. He has years of experience in the sport and has also been a successful competitive fighter.
The workshop will take place at Thursday 11 January 2024. It starts at 6pm and ends at 7.15pm.

First aid course
In the spring, we are once again organising a first aid course from Taus Gym. Accidents within the sports world and in everyday life do happen from time to time and to be prepared for this, a first aid course is incredibly useful experience to have.
The first aid course will take place in April and we would like to know who is interested in this course. Please let us know via contact form.
Member outing!
Once again this year, we are happy to organise an outing to do something fun together. This members' outing is for all members of Taus Gym. Like last year, we would like to go shooting again this time.
It is planned to take place on Sunday 24 March in the afternoon. The fee for this outing will be €30 per person. Once you have registered, you will receive confirmation and further details.

Information screen Tilburg
A new feature will soon be added to our Tilburg location. A TV screen has recently been hanging where we will be projecting information and announcements in the near future.
This means you won't miss any important updates and news. Information about upcoming events, exams and special events will also be posted here.
So keep a close eye on these so you stay up-to-date.
Recap: winter outdoor training
In the autumn, we organised several activities including the winter outdoor training. During these training sessions, we trained outside in the cold and dark for our Krav Maga classes.
To get an impression of the atmosphere, we would like to share with you here some images to look back on these beautiful and educational trainings!
Holiday schedule
This season too, we will have to deal with a number of holiday periods and holidays. The Carnival and May holidays are coming up and during this period we will have a different schedule than usual. So keep a close eye on the agenda in order to avoid unexpected surprises.

May holidays: 27 April 2024 to 5 May 2024
Exams
The exams are an important part of Krav Maga. This is because the exams test your skills and knowledge in an intensive way.
Of course, we are happy to help you prepare towards the exam. To this end, we schedule extra training sessions that will get you ready for the real thing.
Curriculum training
The name says it all, curriculum-based training. The curriculum is the list of techniques used within Krav Maga.
During the curriculum training, you can go through the techniques for your level and get some extra training. Ideal if you want to know which techniques belong to your level.

Pre-test
The pre-test is your chance to take the final step in your preparation for the exam. If you are sure that you know all the techniques and have the right skills for your level, the pre-test can help you make the final touches.
The pre-test uses the same structure as the official IKMF exam, making it the ideal training to prepare for the exam. At the end of the pre-test, you will also receive valuable feedback that will help you further in your training.

Exams
Ready to put your skills within Krav Maga to the test? During the official IKMF exam, your level's techniques are tested at a high intensity. This will allow you to take your Krav Maga skills to the next level.
Depending on your level, you will take the exam locally at our location in Tilburg or nationwide in Almere.
To apply for the exam, you need to be registered with the IKMF association. At the IKMF website find more information on this.

Women Only Krav Maga course
After another successful completion of the Women Only Krav Maga courses in 2023, we will start a new round again this year.

The Women Only Krav Maga Course focuses on increasing resilience
in women, both physically and mentally. Indeed, women face violence and
aggression than men. Consider, for example, sexual harassment.

During the course, we will focus on boosting your self-confidence and
teaching practical self-defence techniques. We also pay a lot of attention to discovering, sensing but also
stating your limits.

In 9 lessons, we will help you become stronger in your shoes!
You will take the course with other women in a safe and friendly environment where all experiences, fitness levels and ages are welcome.
