The autumn season has started again! In a period characterised by togetherness, we have fun and exciting activities planned afterwards.
We will be training your Krav Maga skills in a different environment during the winter outdoor training sessions. We will also start a new round of the Women Only Krav Maga course and look back on a beautiful and sporty year during the end-of-year drinks. You will also find everything you need to know about the Krav Maga exams and read healthy resistance tips in Merel's blog.

Winter outdoor training courses
With falling temperatures and ever-shorter days, we are ready with a new challenge for you. It's time again for winter outdoor training!

This time, we move our training to the realistic environment of everyday life - outdoors! Here you can train and perfect your Krav Maga skills while wearing ordinary clothes and shoes.
So make sure you bring your everyday clothes. We also recommend dressing in layers so you can quickly and easily take things on or off.
Below are the dates when the winter outdoor training takes place:
- Tilburg: Wednesday 13 December 2023
- Breda: Thursday 14 December 2023
Note! Also bring your normal sports gear. This is because we train indoors in bad weather.
Women Only Krav Maga course
We will soon be starting a new Women Only Krav Maga course again! This course offers women the opportunity to work on both physical and mental resilience in a powerful way.
We focus on strengthening self-confidence, developing effective self-defence techniques for situations that specifically women face more often such as harassment and (sexual) violence. Standing up for yourself and indicating boundaries is also an important part of the course.
Within a supported community, you will attend the course with other women. We understand that each participant has unique experiences and needs, which is why there is plenty of room for personal attention. Together, we aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where every woman feels comfortable.

You don't need to have any self-defence experience to join this course. Moreover, all fitness levels and ages are welcome!

The course itself will take place from 22 January to 25 March 2024. Classes are every Monday between 8.15pm and 9.15pm at our Tilburg location at Professor Romeinstraat 11A.

End-of-year drinks
We are in the final period of the year when we look back on a beautiful and enjoyable year with great pleasure. We would like to end the year 2023 festively together with you. To this end, we will organise this year's end-of-year drinks with snacks, drinks and a lot of fun!
The drinks reception will take place at Saturday 16 December 2023 at our location in Tilburg, Professor Romeinstraat 11A.
All members aged 16 and over are welcome and the own contribution is €15.

Training materials
Did you know that you can buy all training materials from us? For every class, there are certain supplies you need to enjoy your workout. For Krav Maga, for example, it is useful to have a bit, toque and uniform so that we can train safely together.
Moreover, we also sell sports t-shirts for both Krav Maga and FIT classes and, of course, the original Taus Gym vest which is ideal for the slightly colder periods.

Holiday schedule
This period also sees the autumn and Christmas holidays. During these holidays, we will have a different timetable than usual. Therefore keep a close eye on the agenda keep an eye on it so you are aware of what classes are on during the holidays.
Also good to know: during the holidays with the week before and after you may attend any training regardless of your membership!
This means that with your Krav Maga membership, you can also join all FIT classes and vice versa. In addition, there is also Saturday Grappling class you may participate in during holiday periods.

Exams
The exams are coming up again! For this, we offer additional training such as curriculum training and the pre-test so that you are optimally prepared.
Do you have plans to go up soon? Then read on quickly!

Pre-test
The pre-test is for anyone who has already mastered the techniques but wants to hone them further. During this training you will follow the same structure as the official IKMF exam, making it the perfect preparation for your next exam.
Moreover, at the end of the pre-test, you will receive personal feedback that will help you further in your training and you will also know if you are really ready for the official exam.
Below is the date of the next pre-test. Register via contact form. You can register until 18 October.

Resistance
It is slowly getting colder and wetter outside. As a result, we move more indoors, where viruses and other pathogens spread more easily.
So it is extra important in these months to support your resistance.
A healthy diet can help with this, as it provides all the nutrients you need for a functioning immune system. So make sure you have a healthy base:
- Eat lots of fruit and vegetables
- Choose whole-grain products
- Take (vegetable) dairy products daily
- Have a handful of unsalted nuts daily
- Drink plenty of fluids
A key player in defence is your gut. 70% of your immune system starts in the colon. This is where intestinal bacteria, the intestinal epithelial layer and the intestinal mucosa are located. All three help identify and keep out intruders. The gut bacteria also help in the growth and division of immune cells. They ensure that enough immune cells are available to fight the pathogen.
So it is important to take good care of your gut. You do this by feeding the good bacteria to stimulate growth and activity. By doing so, you maintain a healthy balance and there is no room in the gut for bad bacteria. The food source of gut bacteria is dietary fibre. These are found in vegetable products: vegetables, fruits, whole grain products, legumes and nuts. Make sure you add these products to your daily diet as much as possible.
