The winter period is the perfect time to reflect on what we have achieved and to look ahead to everything that lies ahead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The past months were filled with special workshops, inspiring collaborations and sporting achievements that made our community a little stronger again. Both within our own walls and outside, we were actively engaged in strengthening resilience, awareness and physical strength. The energy and commitment of the participants made this conclusion extra special. For several participants, it was their first match, and everyone fought strong and instructive matches. Health, fun and enough energy to keep doing what makes you better.<\/p>\n<p>I don't normally write a personal piece so quickly, but fair's fair: with a little help from AI these days, it's easier to get my message across just a little more clearly\ud83d\ude09.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<br \/>\nAnd that seemed like a good time, because last year was really a banner year for us. Great training sessions, strong groups, lots of commitment. I would like to continue that line this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>Many people start January with good intentions. Personally, I prefer to call them goals. Not because it sounds nicer, but because goals give direction. They help you work more consciously towards a better version of yourself, in a way that suits what you find important.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>A tip I always pass along: set multiple goals, and make them concrete.<br \/>\n\u201cI want to get stronger\u201d or \u201cI want to get better at Krav Maga\u201d sounds good, but remains vague. It helps enormously if you make it tangible. For example: be able to do 6 pull-ups by the end of the year, or achieve your P2. Even better: work with intermediate goals. Do 3 pull-ups by the end of January with the orange belt. Participate in the pre-test and incorporate all feedback within a month. That may work for a while, but for most people, not long-term. What ultimately counts is a lifestyle you can maintain.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>You've probably seen all kinds of New Year's resolutions passing by. One in particular caught my eye: \u201conly\u201d five simple rules, for 75 days. Eat perfectly every day, exercise twice for 45 minutes, drink litres of water, read, take progression photos. Miss one day? Start again.<br \/>\nIt sounds tough, but let's face it: this is not sustainable for most people. More importantly, it is highly questionable whether it is good for most people at all. Those who keep this up without a problem are probably already living this way and don't need this challenge. For others, it gives a brief kick, followed by relapse into old habits.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>This is no accident. These kinds of challenges were devised by entrepreneurs and podcasters, not sports physiologists or behavioural scientists. The problem is not that it is tough, but that it is designed without demonstrable knowledge of training, recovery and behaviour. No individual tailoring, no distinction between load and effect, no long-term focus. It mainly tests who can persevere, not who will benefit structurally.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>So my wish for this year is that we all listen and look a little more critically at the information we receive, or that is forced upon us. That we rely more often on subject-matter experts, and a little less on people with microphones and millions of followers.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>Above all, let's keep training this year with intelligence, fun and realistic goals. A recurring event that brings together challenge, perseverance and personal growth.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"585\">\u200e<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"585\">FIT Champions has now become a regular time on the calendar for anyone who wants to challenge themselves in a different way and make the most of their training.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"585\">\u200e<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"876\">The event is open to different levels: whether you are just starting out or have been training for longer, everyone can participate at their own level. Terugblik herfst De herfst van 2025 was voor Taus Gym een seizoen dat in het teken stond van groei, verbinding en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Zowel binnen onze eigen muren als daarbuiten waren we actief bezig met het versterken van weerbaarheid, bewustzijn en fysieke kracht. Daarnaast waren er mooie sportieve prestaties van onze leden en kwamen verschillende projecten tot een succesvolle afronding. \u200e Hieronder lees je een uitgebreid overzicht van de belangrijkste momenten van dit seizoen. Orange The World: workshop weerbaarheid in het nachtleven Tijdens Orange The World verzorgden we een workshop waarin studenten leerden hoe ze signalen herkennen en veilig handelen in het nachtleven. Met realistische scenario\u2019s en praktische technieken kregen deelnemers meer inzicht \u00e9n vertrouwen. Workshop in de Vrije Boekhandel In een sfeervolle boekhandel gaven we een toegankelijke workshop waarin deelnemers werkten aan basistechnieken, houding en bewustwording. De laagdrempelige setting zorgde voor een open en veilige sfeer. Een bijzondere en leerzame ontmoeting tussen kracht en cultuur. Praktijkexamens weerbaarheid Sport &amp; Bewegen\u00a0 Tijdens de praktijkexamens van Yonder lieten studenten zien hoe zij hun didactische en sporttechnische vaardigheden toepassen in de praktijk. De groei en professionaliteit waren duidelijk zichtbaar gedurende de examendag. Afronding Women Only-cursus De Women Only-cursus werd afgesloten met een krachtige eindles waarin duidelijk werd hoeveel de groep gegroeid is in zelfvertrouwen, weerbaarheid en techniek. De energie en betrokkenheid van de deelnemers maakten deze afsluiting extra bijzonder. Een traject om trots op terug te kijken. Weerbaarheidsworkshop in het Chass\u00e9 Theater in Breda Voor medewerkers van het Chass\u00e9 Theater verzorgden we een training gericht op veilig handelen en omgaan met lastige situaties tijdens hun werk. De combinatie van communicatie, bewustwording en praktische technieken werd enthousiast ontvangen. Grapplingtoernooi Ons grapplingteam stond in het afgelopen seizoen op de mat tijdens een mooi georganiseerd toernooi en liet zien hoe hard er de afgelopen periode is getraind. Voor meerdere deelnemers was het hun eerste wedstrijd, en iedereen vocht sterke en leerzame partijen. We zijn ontzettend trots op hun inzet, doorzettingsvermogen en teamspirit. Geslaagden Krav Maga Afgelopen periode hebben verschillende leden hun Krav Maga-examen succesvol afgerond. Hun discipline, inzet en toewijding waren tijdens de examendag duidelijk zichtbaar. Een fantastische prestatie, nogmaals gefeliciteerd aan alle geslaagden! Hoi Allemaal! \u200e Allereerst: de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar. Gezondheid, plezier en genoeg energie om te blijven doen waar je beter van wordt. Ik schrijf normaal niet zo snel een persoonlijk stukje, maar eerlijk is eerlijk: met een beetje hulp van AI is het tegenwoordig makkelijker om mijn boodschap net wat duidelijker over te laten komen\ud83d\ude09. \u200e En dat leek me een goed moment, want vorig jaar was voor ons echt een topjaar. Mooie trainingen, sterke groepen, veel inzet. Die lijn wil ik dit jaar graag doortrekken. \u200e Veel mensen starten januari met goede voornemens. Zelf noem ik ze liever doelen. Niet omdat het mooier klinkt, maar omdat doelen richting geven. Ze helpen je bewuster te werken aan een betere versie van jezelf, op een manier die past bij wat jij belangrijk vindt. \u200e Een tip die ik altijd meegeef: stel meerdere doelen, en maak ze concreet. \u201cIk wil sterker worden\u201d of \u201cik wil beter worden in Krav Maga\u201d klinkt goed, maar blijft vaag. Het helpt enorm als je het tastbaar maakt. Bijvoorbeeld: aan het einde van het jaar 6 pull-ups kunnen, of je P2 behalen. Nog beter: werk met tussentijdse doelen. Eind januari 3 pull-ups met de oranje band. Meedoen aan de pre-test en alle feedback binnen een maand verwerken. Kleine, meetbare stappen zorgen voor succesmomenten en belangrijker: consistentie. Lees meerLees meer Maak het vooral niet te complex of extreem. Dat werkt misschien even, maar voor de meeste mensen niet langdurig. Wat uiteindelijk telt, is een leefstijl die je vol kunt houden. \u200e Je hebt vast al allerlei nieuwjaarschallenges voorbij zien komen. E\u00e9n viel me extra op: \u201cmaar\u201d vijf simpele regels, 75 dagen lang. Elke dag perfect eten, twee keer 45 minuten trainen, liters water drinken, lezen, progressiefoto\u2019s maken. E\u00e9n dag missen? Opnieuw beginnen. Het klinkt stoer, maar laten we eerlijk zijn: dit is voor de meeste mensen niet vol te houden. En belangrijker nog: het is zeer de vraag of het \u00fcberhaupt goed is voor de meeste mensen. Wie dit probleemloos volhoudt, leeft waarschijnlijk al zo en heeft deze challenge niet nodig. Voor anderen geeft het een korte kick, gevolgd door terugval in oude gewoontes. \u200e Dat is geen toeval. Dit soort challenges zijn bedacht door ondernemers en podcasters, niet door sportfysiologen of gedragswetenschappers. Het probleem is niet dat het zwaar is, maar dat het ontworpen is zonder aantoonbare kennis van training, herstel en gedrag. Geen individuele afstemming, geen onderscheid tussen belasting en effect, geen focus op lange termijn. Het test vooral wie kan volhouden, niet wie er structureel beter van wordt. \u200e Mijn wens voor dit jaar is dan ook dat we met z\u2019n allen iets kritischer luisteren en kijken naar de informatie die we binnenkrijgen, of die ons wordt opgedrongen. Dat we vaker vertrouwen op vakinhoudelijke experts, en iets minder op mensen met een microfoon en miljoenen volgers. \u200e Laten we dit jaar vooral blijven trainen met verstand, plezier en realistische doelen. Ik kijk ernaar uit om samen weer mooie stappen te zetten.
